There is only one true moment that exists, and that moment is right NOW. We as humans can only possess and use the moment we are given before us. There is only the now, there is not a past or a future in existence.
The past and future are merely creations of your ego in an attempt to attach value to ourselves, a false image of who we are. We are only who we are right at this moment. Do not let perceptions of the past or impressions of the future take anything away from who you are right now, for they do not exist.

Through this site we can awaken and change others to become more aware that what they do in their everyday lives is constantly effecting the world and those around them. I feel an awakening to this truth in the minds of the masses, who are mainly residing within their own closed and seemingly delusion points of view, will create a change towards the betterment of mankind. The sad thing right now is that many people out there end their education after high school, they never pick up a book or attempt to better themselves once they feel their "education" is complete. What they do not realize is that high school taught them very little in terms of independent thought, and about how you can be greater than you are through a personal quest to become educated. Instead they tell you to measure your intellect by the number of units you have completed thus far. It is my long standing notion that high schools should teach a philosophy class. If you truely want to inspire those to learn you must show them that learning is not simply filling out handouts, coloring internal organs, or writing a five paragraph essay about the different patterns of salmon migration in california, an essay which I was forced to write. The migration patterns of salmon may be an interesting topic but what I found out in writing it is that it was merely a report of information, a report of information that has to be reported a certain way, a five paragraph essay. They even went so far as to tell us what each sentence in the five paragraph essay should be about. How is it possible to become a good writer if there is no room for creativity? I am a firm believer that writing is a wonderful form of creative expression, and if you were to teach such a topic you should allow for the students to be creative. Such a task of plugging in information into a template called a 5 paragraph essay that requires no creativity is much more suited for a robot. Thats the problem the school system and society now in America, the system is set up to create robots not people, and robots do little more than carry out the orders of their makers free of concious thought and creative interpretation.

If there was one perspective in life that I would like to share with any random person on any random day it would be this;
"There is something to learn from everyone you meet in your lifetime."
Regardless of age, gender, culture, sexual orientation, or religion, I believe you can learn something from everyone you come across in your life. The question is whether or not you are in the proper mindset to compete such a task. Many people, including myself at times, get bogged down in the categorization we all do when we meet someone new. For example, if you come across a homeless person on the street I would argue the majority of people would discard anything that person has to say due to his appearances and general uncleanliness. This person would be treated as a lower member of society and thought of as someone who has no knowledge about anything of any importance. However if you really think about it, then why does a persons cleanliness, the amount of money in their pockets, or attractiveness alter our perception of thier knowledge?
Regardless of those attributes the homeless person on the street has still lived and survived for as many years as they have, be it 20, 30,40 or even a 100 years? It is unfortunate how we discount this person's knowledge based on his abilities to conform to the customs we set forth in our society. We deny the years of experience and potential knowledge the person has, we assume we are superior.
This superiority however, is based on the materialism generated by our society in America. The superiority is false and contrived by a society that tells us to judge and speculate about people without knowing anything about them. However assumptions are just subjective speculation, and by this subjective speculative nature they are merely unproven guesses. How much do you really know someone if you dont even know their name?
Perhaps in your speculation you can guess a name for a person, Herman? Jack? Maximus? and then in turn guess a life for them, Herman is homeless because he spent all of his money on lotto tickets and didnt hit the big one, or Maximus used to be a pilot on an airplane but was caught stealing food rations on the plane and at that point Maximus lost his self esteem and his job, thus bringing him to the life on the street as he now knows it. These are all assumptions and are not based on fact, and depending on your disposition you may categorize that person in a different way than I. But there is only one truth that resided in both of our categorizations, We both know nothing.
For to know is not to guess, to know is to know. For one to truely seek knowledge, one must set aside their nature to categorize, and treat each encounter with another as a learing experience rather than a speculative one. So the next time you encounter someone, make a concious effort to realize your categorization in your head and do not speculate about the person, learn about the person. For to Learn is to live my friends.

Philosophy is great in a sense that it applies universally to everyone. Philosophy is the study of love, perspective, truth, decision making, purpose, religion, empathy, understanding, choice, etc. Basically it is the study of life, and who is not interested in that? Philosophy is something that we all can adhere to and share as we are all living life, as we are all in the same struggle. One can say they are not interested in watching TV, Architecture, the average length of a blade of grass on any given day, however to say that one is not interested in the study of life itself, is saying this; either you are god and know everything there is to know, giving you no reason to study, or perhaps you think you are god, but you know only of the different colors of gum you incidentally stepped on throughout your life and that is enough. If you are the latter then there is no need to worry as you do not have to study life, as you already know what life is. With this knowledge you may or may not grow old, but if you do then you will have no need to worry about life, for all life is, is the contents located on the bottom of your shoe. You can then have a great time telling stories to your grandchilren about how you incidentally stepped in this or incidentally stepped in that, and after all the laughter and excitement they will eventually ask you, Why?, Why did you keep stepping in that? Why did you not step in that? Why? and it will be at that point that you realize that for that moment your grandchildren are wiser than you, and your collection of gum underneath your shoe. Wiser than the man who thought he was god and knew everything. For they did something you have never thought to do, ask why?
